Improve your quality of life with implant dentistry
Dental implants are intended to be permanent replacements for missing teeth, and when properly cared for with good oral hygiene and routine preventive dental care can last for a lifetime. Implants are designed to look, function and feel just like your natural tooth in order to provide optimal results for your oral health and function as well as your appearance.
Dental implants consist of two main parts – an implant post and an implant restoration. An implant post is a screw, usually made of titanium. The post is surgically placed into the jawbone to replace the missing tooth root and provide a healthy and stable foundation for the replacement tooth. After the implant placement surgery, there is a period of healing during which the implant post bonds with the supporting bone. After the healing period, our dentist will work with you to place the implant restoration atop the post to complete your treatment.
A dental implant restoration is the replacement tooth, and may be a crown, bridge or a denture depending on your individual needs and how many teeth you are replacing. Your implant restoration is custom-designed to match your other teeth and provide you with a beautiful and functional result.
Anyone who is missing a tooth may be a candidate for a dental implant. Please note that you may need to receive addition treatment prior to receiving an implant if you have a pre-existing dental condition such as tooth decay or periodontal disease.
